Little nippers who want to experience what it is like to board a real-life fire truck, and meet emergency services workers can attend an information session at Coleman Park on Saturday, October 27.

“With all of NSW in drought and a forecast of ongoing warm and dry conditions, there is the potential for a long and protracted bushfire season.
“This event is a perfect opportunity for residents to do their bit to prepare and protect their family and property in the event of a fire.
“Volunteer firefighters will be available to talk to about the simple things you can do to reduce your bush/grass fire risk,” said Rural Fire Services, operational manager, Daniel Osborne.
Crews from across local services including Rural Fire Services, State Emergency Services, Fire + Rescue NSW Station 271 Crookwell and NSW Ambulance will attend.
The Crookwell Lions Club will be on the barbeque cooking up a free sausage sizzle.
The event is for residents to meet the volunteers and crews to help prepare them in case of an emergency incident.
"All the emergency services work closely together, and this ensures the community is prepared for storm and flood season.
"We want to ensure that if an incident occurs people know which of the emergency services to call, when to call and how to be prepared," said State Emergency Services unit commander Benjamin Lynch.
The emergency services will display vehicles, equipment and have interactive displays, including an smoke house and flood boat, volunteers will be available for photographs, and to answer any questions.
10 am – 2 pm at Coleman Park, Crookwell.
