Karen Ralph, swimming instructor said it’s a great time to come and cool down after school with your mates.
“Play the good old games, like ‘Marco Polo’, ‘Shark’, or grab a noodle from the lifeguard. Race your mates … Have a splash on the diving board,” she said.
Crookwell Pool has a barbecue, and people can picnic at both.
Gunning Pool will be open daily from 11am to 6pm.
Crookwell Pool will open from Saturday to Thursday 11am to 6pm, and on Friday from 11am to 5pm. However, the opening hours at Crookwell are subject to change depending on the availability of staff.
Mrs Ralph said swimming and water safety lessons enabled students to become safer in water environments.
“It improves coordination, balance and flexibility. The fun of playing around in the water allows children to exercise without even knowing it,” she said.
She reminded people to play it safe at the pool and abide by the pool rules. Read and obey notices and follow the instructions of the lifeguards.
