Organisers of the monthly event said the markets will stop over the summer to to refurbish and renovate the Laggan Memorial Hall, which is used during the markets.
It was a successful 2018 for the village markets and all of the money raised would be used for the restoration.
The Laggan Markets via their social media announced, “Every dollar goes to the renovation of the Laggan Hall, which dates back to the 1800's.
“This year, with your [volunteers, stall holders, market visitors] support, we have finished replacing the timber windows, re-clad and re-wired one of the small rooms and begun the re-cladding of another.
“During the January break, the floors will be sanded and oiled.”
There were over 60 stall holders at the Christmas markets selling everything from garden sculpture to speciality cakes.
Karin Schaefer, said, “The market was well supported by the local community and visitors to the Shire from Canberra and the Highlands.”
“The tearoom served over 50 Devonshire teas and too many to count barbeque breakfast rolls.
“It was a vibrant and fun morning,” she said.
