The forecast is for hot, dry and windy conditions.
The total fire ban will begin at midnight on Wednesday, January 16 and remain in place for 24 hours.
The ban includes the lighting of any fires out in the open, including wood or solid fuel barbeques.
“Latest forecasts indicate temperatures reaching the low 40s with low humidity and moderate winds from the northwest,” NSW Rural Fire Service Superintendent Peter Alley.
“This has resulted in a Very High Fire Danger Rating in place across the Southern Tablelands tomorrow,” Superintendent Alley said.
“If a fire was to start under these conditions, it may be uncontrollable.”
All unattended fires should be reported to Triple Zero (000).
Landholders are advised to defer outdoor mechanical works during the heat of the day and residents are advised to stay alert and ensure their family is aware of their Bush Fire Survival Plan.
