The weekly services will be accessible from the second half of 2019.
Country Universities Centre (CUC) in Goulburn has welcomed the plan for better transport links for regional communities.
"This new transport line would help existing students be better supported in their university study and encourage new students to access the Country Universities Centre (CUC) in Goulburn," centre manager, Ashlee Jones said.
CUC has a number of students from the Upper Lachlan Shire who travel to use the facilities in Goulburn, and 50 per cent of students travel to Canberra for classes at universities to take advantage of face-to-face classes.
"This is a great cost in fuel and time," Ms Jones said.
"In these regional areas often internet access is limited, so coming into the centre is crucial for distance students."
New services would be provided once a week and include day return trips from Bigga to Goulburn via Binda, Crookwell and Grabben Gullen via a weekly day return NSW TrainLink rail service provided between Goulburn and Canberra.
And, Wyangala to Canberra via Cowra, Murringo and Boorowa via a weekly day return bus service to Cowra (for Wyangala community) and Canberra.
The services will initially be provided on a trial basis.
At least 44 communities across regional NSW will be connected to major regional and city centres by bus and train routes under a NSW Liberals and Nationals Government, a media release from the Deputy Premier Minister for Regional NSW, John Barilaro and Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance read.
Other services include return trips between Goodooga and Lightning Ridge via Dubbo, Goondiwindi to Inverell via Boggabilla, Conargo to Echuca via Deniliquin and Cabramurra to Cooma via Cowra, Murringo, Boorowa, and Canberra.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance said regional passengers would also benefit from an entirely new regional train fleet to be introduced in the early 2020s.
“These new public transport services, as well as the new trains we have ordered, will be a game-changer for regional communities," Mr Constance said.
“This will not only offer better access to new health services and education opportunities but also provide commuters with the ability to spend the day in a nearby major city or regional centre.”
