Minister for Health Brad Hazzard and Liberal candidate for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman announced the funding today.
Their announcement followed an earlier promise of funding from the Daley Labor Government.
Planning for the works would commence immediately.
The funding would be used to improved areas within the emergency department with increased capacity, the minor procedures area, ward areas for inpatients throughout the hospital, including patient rooms and bathrooms, medical equipment upgrades, including ECG (electrocardiogram) machines, defibrillator and a transport ventilator.
"It was critical that Crookwell not miss out [on upgrades]," Ms Tuckerman said. "Once this funding is delivered, I will have ongoing conversations with the hospital staff to ensure any further needs can also be addressed. I have visited the hospital, listened to the community and stakeholders, and worked with the Liberal Government to secure the funds."
The State Government Coalition has also committed that the Southern NSW Local Health District will receive at least 203 new staff, including eight doctors, 147 nurses and midwives, 23 allied health staff, and 25 hospital support workers.
The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) provides health services for about 200,000 residents and additional visitors in the south east of NSW.
