Describing herself as an Australian wildlife artist, Catherine devotes herself to using pastels to lovingly capture ‘up close and personal’ portraits of all sorts of creatures great and small. She has spent over 20 years honing her skills and refining her craft, resulting in her receiving critical acclaim and numerous awards for her wonderful depictions of wildlife.
Catherine won the People’s Choice Award and the Unpacker’s Award at Crookwell’s 2018 Art on the Range Exhibition. Both works were quickly snapped up.
The great news for budding artists is that Catherine is running a pastels workshop at the Crookwell District Art Gallery, where you can learn how to use this versatile medium to create your own stunning artworks. What a wonderful opportunity to learn from a truly great contemporary artist!
The workshop is suitable for both beginner and intermediate students and is being held at the Crookwell District Art Gallery on Saturday, March 30, from 9.30am to 3pm. The cost is $80 per person, including materials, morning tea and light lunch. Bookings are essential, please contact Lesley Gartrell on 0421 178 082.
You can see some of Catherine’s art on display at Wall Candy, 44 Goulburn Street, Crookwell. Wall Candy gallery is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
