Crookwell Golf Club president, Ashley Gilbert, said that it had been a thoroughly enjoyable, if nonstop, couple of days.
"It was a very successful open weekend," Gilbert said.
"It started on Saturday with … a four man ambrose, and we had a good field of 56 players.
"Of course on Sunday, we had our Crookwell Open Day, and it was very well supported by some visitors that continually come back and support us."
Overall, more than 80 golfers took part in the events across the weekend, which Gilbert said was a "really good" turnout.
Despite the struggles faced by the club to keep the course in good condition throughout a very hot summer season, Gilbert said that the quality of play at the Crookwell Open had been top notch.
"We've got some pretty sick greens at the moment … but the standard of golf, in our club, we've got in excess of 10 guys in single figure markers," he said.
"The guy that won the open on Sunday, he shot 74 off the stick, so that's a pretty tidy effort."
The open has consistently proven highly popular throughout the years, and draws regular visitors from as far as Coffs Harbour, and often sees Sydney residents make the trip to Crookwell as well.
"We've got guys that travel and find out the secret of our little club," Gilbert said.
"I like to think we're a pretty welcoming and happy little place, so they seem to come back year after year."
While many country golf clubs hold events that are largely social in nature, Gilbert said that the open was "very competitive".
"We take our golf seriously and we all like to try and improve ourselves."
