The day was run as part of the ANZ and NSW SMBA Southern Tablelands Regional Flock Ewe Championship.
Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) Ben Watts took the students in a Merino ewe workshop and junior judging competition.
It is an important link between students and the industry, Mr Watts said.
Students were taught about the structure and confirmation of a merino ewe, sheep handling, wool quality workshop, use of wool commercially, and valuing, held at 'Innisvale' at Crookwell.
Before individually judging ewes at properties that were also participating in the regional flock ewe finals.
The top three students were Kye Mawson of St Stannies, Annabelle Corby of Mulwaree and Jake Waters of Trinity.
"They're a very little in it between first and second it was a point," Michael Lowe of 'Innisvale'.
The perpetual trophy winner was Kye, and second place went to Annabelle.
