Kimberly Allport finished off a team goal which started from Fynella Parsons passing the ball forward to Lillian Skelly who placed a well weighted cross for Kimbo to finish.
This was a great way for Kimbo to start her first game of the 2019 season. The girl's eagerness would lead to their demises, Crookwell made too many 3/4/5 girl tackles and Goulburn made the most of the free players slotting three goals before half time, 1-3 would be the half time score.
After half time the girls went out with a different attitude, focus on structure and trusting their fellow players.
This new mindset proved key as the girls mounted a comeback. Strong defence from birthday girl Isla Stephenson and Ashley McDonald would put Crookwell on the front foot with Lillian Skelly troubling the keeper twice and Kimbo sealing the deal with a long range thunderbolt taking the girls home 4-3.
Buzzing on the result of their first game and dancing in their 15 minute break to the tune of Queen's 'We Are The Champions', Crookwell's bubble was about to burst in their second game as their opponents, Stags White. brought the girls back to reality.
In no time Stags had put two unanswered goals into the girls net which was the half time score.
During the half-time break, the girls were asked to show their heart, how big their motor is and to fight to the finish, and fight they did. Brianna Roberts and Courtney Stephenson were rock solid in the back line and Addy Whittington's calm, well placed passing would see our ladies on the attack again.
Lillian Skelly needs no invitation in front of the net, smoking home not one, but two crackers of goals to bring our girls back level with the Stag boys.
After 115 minutes of football and dancing to Freddie Mercury, the girl's efforts caught up with them.
Within five short minutes, the Stags opened the game up and made the most of our girls' tired legs to take the victory 5-2. Judging by the girl's disappointment they will no doubt be harder and more determined next week but playing the STFA competition front runners their resistance will be tested.

Under 15s Crookwell Red
Crookwell Reds Under 15 soccer side continued their impressive start to the 2019 season, after earlier wins over MBK and Stags Pink; the reds made it three from three with a dominant performance against a young but enthusiastic Marulan team.
The Reds not only dominated possession but controlled field position, which resulted in numerous scoring opportunities of which they converted three times in the first half.
The second half was a repeat of the first with Crookwell finding the back of the net six times, to bring up a comfortable 9-0 score line.
With the nucleus of last year's team, the addition of last year's Under 13s, the return of three kids who haven't played for a few years and a new signing, this year's team has the potential to beat all before them.
This Saturday's game against the number one Stags side, will give the Reds an indication of whether they'll be premiership contenders or not. We'll just have to wait and see.

Crookwell Colts
Crookwell Colts faced a strong Stags FC side on Saturday in lovely autumn weather, perhaps even a bit warm for soccer. Stags came out attacking from the first whistle and our defence held up well.
An error from the our keeper saw a goal conceded along with a dislocated finger.
Once our team settled into the pace of the game we gave as good as we received, and went into half time only one goal down. In the second half our passing game was improving as Stags started to tire, however this being only our third game together, our structure lost its way late in the half, and the Stagss pounced on every opportunity they had with a 5-0 win being the result.
The score didn't really reflect how close the game was, and we are looking forward to the rematch in a few weeks to see how we can turn the tables.
Crookwell Senior Men
The Crookwell Reds All Age Men hosted Goulburn's MBK on Saturday in perfect conditions.
The game started off well with both teams attacking early but the combined age and experience of the Reds started to shine through as they found their rhythm, this did not take long to culminate in Duncan Shepherd slotting the first goal after 15 minutes.
The game progressed rather one sided with Robbie Johnston and Sam Jackson joining Duncan on the scorecard for a 4-0 halftime score.
The possession remained with the Reds throughout the second half who continued to apply pressure with multiple shots and strong performances from Scott Hunter, Dave Slater and Dan Clements in the backline shutting down any chances of MBK troubling goalkeeper Dean Pearman.
The final whistle saw a 10-0 scoreline thanks to Sam Jackson with five goals, Duncan Shepherd with three goals and Robbie Johnston with two goals.
Special mention goes to Alex Rodgers who had a strong game on the wing. Thanks to Dave Johnson and David Shepherd for refereeing, and also the Upper Lachlan Shire council staff who have prepared the fields to such a pristine standard.
