Outgoing president Jennifer Hall handed over the running of the club to Norm Fountain.
"For those that have supported me during my time in Lions, thank you for your support," Mr Fountain said.
"Without it I wouldn't have been able to have done what I've done."
As well as stepping in to his new role as the club president, Mr Fountain was acknowledged with a Melvin Jones Fellowship award. Both he and Lion John Gray received the highest distinction that a Lion can receive.
In an emotional exchange, Ms Hall handed plaques to the two men.
Lion John Flarrety said the award, established in 1973, was for their years of service to the club and commitment to the town.
In 2018-19 the Lions Club of Crookwell donated over $30,000 to the local community and completed 970 volunteer hours.
