The Gunning Roos said that their annual fundraising ball, which was held on Saturday June 22, was a "fantastic day and night".

In an email to the Gazette, the Roos said that their charity for 2019, Bears of Hope, is "very close to the heart of many of our players, players' families and people within our community".
The charity provides support for families stricken pregnancy and infant loss.
In support of the event, the players wore custom-made jerseys with the names of infants on the back during their matches, which were auctioned off during the ball later on Saturday night. The names might have belonged their own children, or another child of a family within the community.
Guest speakers for the night were Mari People and Andrew Dance, who described how the Bears helped them after the loss of their son and daughter.
Roughly 90 people took part in the fundraising event, all of whom enjoyed the jersey auction, a monster raffle, a 100 Club, a coin toss at a bottle of spirits, and a lucky door prize. All of the events raised funds for Bears of Hope, with one jersey going for $500.
There were also a number of standalone donations which added to the funds raised.
The day's matches were played against the Boorowa Rovers. The women recorded an 18-18 draw, while the Roos' men went down to the Rovers, 26-6.
