Students and staff celebrated all things books and dressed as their favourite characters and super heroes at the annual parade in the school hall.
A spokesperson for the school said, "it was very exciting to see so many people excited about reading."
The theme this year was reading is my secret power.
It is a celebration of children's literature and characters and six books were chosen by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) as the best in Australian children's literature.
There was 488 entries and more than 100 from first-time creators.
The 2019 Book of the Year award recipients are: Between Us by Clare Atkins, His Name Was Walter by Emily Rodda, Tricky's Bad Day by Alison Lester, Cicada by Shaun Tan, Sorry Day by Coral Vass and Grandma Z by Daniel Gray-Barnett.
The book's tackle gritty, contemporary themes that challenge the readers to contemplate a range of important social issues, including asylum seekers and reconciliation.
CBCA national chair Professor Margot Hillel OAM said, "literature plays a critical role in giving children and young adults an opportunity to explore and understand issues in an age-appropriate way."
