Seven bypasses will be constructed and paid for from unrestricted cash reserves (346,000), the works contingency reserve (310,000) and Section 94 funds (200,000).
The bypasses will include the bridges at Bigga Road across Kangaroo Creek, Blue Hills Road at Monkey Creek, Peelwood Road and Cooksvale Road spanning the Peelwood Creek, both bridges on the Julong Road across the Crookwell River, and at Willcox Road across Clifford Creek.
Updates:
- Designs are being prepared for bypasses at Blue Hills Road and Cooksvale Road.
- Works on the Julong Road is expected to begin in September and take around three weeks to complete.
Bypasses will also be constructed at the Kangaloolah Road at Diamond Creek, Woodville Road at Crookwell River, the unnamed creek at Peelwood Road.
The council will now borrow up to $1.4 million to fund six timber bridge replacements for bridges less than ten metres long.
These bridges are Arthursleigh Road over Sandy Creek, Jeffreys Road at Bridgy Creek, Julong Road 1 at the Crookwell River, Peelwood Road at the unknown creek, Reids Flat Road at Coates Creek, and Willcox Road at Clifford's Creek.
The council will apply for federal and state government funding for the remaining bridges.
The three concrete bridges at the Boorowa Road at Wheeo Creek and Old Man Gunyah Creek and Reids Flat Road spanning the Lachlan River are being assessed by external agencies.
The associated costs for repairs and upgrade of the bridges at Old Many Gunyah Creek on the Boorowa Road and the Lachlan River at the Reids Flat Road will be shared between the Upper Lachlan Shire Council and the Hilltops Council.
