Crookwell locals Josh Paterson, Jake Paterson, Nick Selmes, and Blake McCarten all took part in the tournament which took place from September 28 to October 13.
Throughout the regular rounds of the tournament, the Southern Tablelands team only won one match - its last against the competition-leading Canberra North side.
Though their success was not resounding on paper, the side contained five 15-year-olds and four 16-year-olds in an Under 19s competition, meaning that they were often less physically developed and less experienced than their opponents.
Though their only win came when it was too late to have an impact on the outcome of the tournament, it was an absolute cracker.
Southern Tablelands skipper Jake Paterson won the toss on Monday, October 7, and elected to bat first at Goulburn's Seiffert Oval.
At the 17 over mark, the Southern Tablelands were struggling under the weight of ACT North's quality bowling outfit, at 6-65.
The rot continued for the home side until Logan Watts (43*) and Nick Selmes (6) combined for a last-wicket rearguard which guided the Southern Tablelands to a total of 148 all out.
Though they ideally would have liked 50-60 more runs on the total, the Southern Tablelands boys were all business when they took to the field.
Opening quick Callum Barton got the ball rolling when he dismissed ACT North opener Felix Ford early for 5.
After the early wicket, North consolidated for the next 13 overs as Muhammad Haroon (13) and Dylan Fernando (59) built a partnership.
The visitors looked likely to gallop to an easy win until the introduction of talented Goulburn legspinner, Archie Wearne.
In his third over, Wearne broke the seal with the wicket of Haroon. Two overs later, the 15-year-old decimated the ACT's lineup with three wickets in six balls.
A fifth wicket for Wearne, who finished with 5-24 from ten overs, was a formality as the Southern Tablelands wrapped up a 31-run victory.
