Ray Meredith, a childhood friend of Patrick's father, David McRae, organised the charity drive, which is run through stock agents and service donor Mark Hedley (Wool Network Goulburn).
The sale of two donated steers raised over $2600 at South Eastern Livestock Exchange, Yass, on Thursday, October 17. The Foley family of Wheeo Pty Ltd donated the steers, sold by Elders Goulburn (Ben Seaman, Tom McGregor, and Steve Ridley).
The steers were purchased by Teys Australia at Wagga Wagga and Peter Brown from Harden, Mr Seaman said.
Mr Meredith thanked Andrew Parsons, the Tuena Hall Committee, and others who had donated. Fundraising would continue until the end of the year, he said.
To nominate livestock for sale, call your stock agent with the account information, available from Mr Meredith (0429 402 591).
Wool donations can be made to Wool Network Goulburn.
