You are the best: the help; service and attitude is overwhelming.
I would also also would like to thank everyone that was involved with my brother Peter and sister-in-law Cyn. I do not know where I would have been without your help, understanding and guidance.
I would say, you would have to go a long way to find a service like your quaint little hospital. I just pray we never lose it.
Also, while I am at it, a big shout out to this town, including Bigga. Your help, understanding and friendliness can only be found in little towns like this.
Thank you to Hart's Chemist, Tim McCarthy, and all the people who are and were involved in the treasure chest over the years.
The biggest thank you to Shirley Picker and Ross. People would go a long way to find such a wonderful kind-hearted people. Also Helen Eldridge, who over the years has helped me out, too.
As I have been pretty ill, I may not be able to do the trip up here as often, so this is my thank you to this wonderful town. Goodbye for now.
Lyn Mccall, Upper Lachlan Shire
Plant sale thanks
The members of the Crookwell Hospital Auxiliary would like to thank everyone who came out in the wind last Saturday to support our Plant Sale.
We are always encouraged by the support of our community and thank all who bought plants, sausage sandwiches and raffle tickets and also to the many community members who donated plants for the stall.
Our Christmas Street Stall comes up on Saturday December 7, so we hope to see you there. Any money we raise for the Hospital Auxiliary goes towards the purchase of equipment and goods to enhance the patient care in our wonderful hospital.
Once again, thank you for your generous support.
Margaret Wheelwright, secretary of the Crookwell Hospital Auxiliary
Lest we forget
Australians are justifiably proud of our Australian Defence Force current serving members and our veterans.
On November 11 at 11am, this and every year, I encourage all Australians to pause for a minute's silence and remember all those who have suffered and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
Every year we mark Remembrance Day because it was at this time and date in 1918 that the guns fell silent on the Western Front, officially ending the First World War.
Originally known as Armistice Day, this day reminds us to pause and remember those who served in the 'war to end all wars' and every conflict and peacekeeping mission since.
We especially honour the more than 102,000 Australians who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and the freedoms we enjoy today.
Remembrance Day is commemorated in towns, cities and local communities across Australia and overseas and I encourage everyone to attend a service and wear a red poppy in memory of our servicemen and women.
Thank you for your service. Lest we forget.
