About 30 people from businesses across the Upper Lachlan Shire gathered at Everley's Cafe, Crookwell on December 4 for fun and festivities to bring in the Christmas period.

This year's celebrations were special for the Upper Lachlan Small Business Association in their first year. For most people, it was a time to celebrate with friends and business owners and a chance to reflect on the year that was.

The party was entertained by local musician and songstress Mariah K who performed carols from her album Have a Mariah Christmas.
Up next, was guest speaker Garry Kadwell, fourth-generation potato grower who applauded the union of the new chambers. It is important to have a representative group for local businesses, he said.
Mr Kadwell spoke to his own business from a potato grower to his involvement in the Crookwell Potato Association and Technico, to being a major supplier of the top restaurants and venues in the country.
This was an unforgettable event for the business association, president Susan Reynolds said.
"So much has happened in three months, what we have achieved is extraordinary and has proved the necessity of having a business voice. The momentum is with the association."" Ms Reynolds said.
"We are hoping that the community will get behind the retail sector, in particular this year, and get behind the Buy in Your Own Backyard campaign. There are speciality shops, and markets, across the Upper Lachlan Shire that all have unique and affordable gifts."
