This Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Crookwell IGA will be holding a big bushfire appeal in conjunction with St Vincent de Paul.
The supermarket has agreed to match every dollar donated by the community up to the value of $10,000.
A stall run by Crookwell IGA staff and volunteers in front of the store will collect donations from 9am-5.30pm on each of those days.
"It's affected everyone. Everyone has a story to tell. And people have been asking our staff at the newsagency and IGA about what they can do, so we thought this is how we could help," Crookwell IGA co-owner and Davies Newsagency owner Floyd Davies said.
"Instead of just donating $10,000, we thought we would try and double that.
"I think this is the biggest catastrophe we've had."
All of the money raised will go to St Vincent de Paul's official bushfire appeal, which is providing meals, clothing and essentials, as well as covering bills for those who have lost their homes.
