The flock was named one of the top five entrants before being selected as the overall winner by judges Alex Wilson and Guy Evans.
Allamby has entered the competition since it started in 2015 and won in 2019. Mr Hewitt said the quality of the Tallawong/Yarrawonga/Stockton-blood ewes was on par with last year and put it down to running fewer numbers than they would normally.
They had 70 millimetres of rain recently and were keeping sheep in smaller paddocks and off others to allow regrowth.
Other Gunning Flock Ewe Competition finalists included Belinda Minehan of Wyuna, Bernie Byrnes of Fairview, Scott Medway of Mount Pleasant and Campbell Basnett of Woodbine.
Allamby is now invited to enter the Regional Southern Tablelands Flock Ewe Championships on March 20, also involving winners from Taralga (March 3), Boorowa and Crookwell Flock Ewe Competitions.
In the cattle section at Gunning Show, a Limousin cow from Roslyn stud Kia Ora received the Supreme Exhibit ribbon.
Jamie Boothman won the Shearing Competition.
Anne Hazell won the Greg Heffernan Supreme Pavilion Exhibit prize with her impressive jam.

All up, there were 86 entries in the Yard Dog Trials, which was "absolutely huge" for the show, Gunning PA&I Society secretary Jen Medway said.

Great weather attracted a crowd of about 1500 to the 118th Gunning Show, secretary Ms Medway said.
People travelled from as far as Sydney and Bathurst to take part in the show, officially opened by Kimberly Heffernan on behalf of her father.
Upper Lachlan Shire deputy mayor John Searl also attended the opening.
During the opening, Maureen Hewitt and Michael Heffernan, who passed away last year, were officially recognised for their contribution to Gunning Show.
"They were heavily involved," Ms Medway said.
Their names were added to Gunning Show's honorary members' board and the Champion Rose ribbon was dedicated to Mrs Hewitt.
"She loved roses and often judged the flowers at the show," Ms Medway said.
