Manager Julie White said about 45 early morning shoppers walked through the door and were able to get items including toilet paper that have been hard to find during the coronavirus pandemic.
The supermarket launched its trial of the special hour from 7-8am on Wednesday and will reopen its doors for the over 65s at the same time on Friday and both days next week.
Carers can assist elderly shoppers and people who think they could also benefit from the dedicated hour, such as those with a disability or underlying illness, are advised to call the supermarket.
Shopper Marie Hearne said she was stocking up in time for her son Brett to visit from Perth.
"The early morning shopping was great and it was nice not to be among the crowds," she said.
Shopper Mandy McDonald said the shelves were really well stocked while Jackie Anderson was pleased discounted prices were still displayed during the early hour.
Rod Hoare was pleased to see IGA had hand sanitser available and hygiene practices in place.
"It was unlike on TV; shoppers were patient and courteous," Mr Hoare said.
Manager Mrs White said staff enjoyed having the over 65s visit.
"We had so many comments from them saying they felt special and were really appreciative of being able to shop before opening hours," she said.
Crookwell IGA staff worked until 11pm on Tuesday night to make sure the shelves were fully stocked.
"We continue to get stock and emphasise to all our shoppers not to panic buy and to shop sensible," Ms White said.
