Ahead of the state election this year, the Coalition Government pledged better access for regional communities to nearby major cities or regional centres.

In February, the pledge was issued from the office of the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance and the Deputy Premier Minister for Regional NSW, John Barilaro.
At least 44 communities will be connected to nearby towns, cities or existing public transport services.
The weekly services will initially be provided on a trial basis.
New services would be provided once a week and include day return trips from Bigga to Goulburn via Binda, Crookwell and Grabben Gullen via a weekly day return NSW TrainLink rail service provided between Goulburn and Canberra.
Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said residents would soon have their say on the new services.
"It's important NSW TrainLink hears from locals as to which timetable they prefer for the trial services along with feedback on what transport options best suit their needs," Mrs Tuckerman said.
"These new services will enable our rural residents to connect with services offered in our regional centres and cities, whether it's getting to the shops or doctors in Goulburn or to the airports in Canberra and Sydney.
"We also need to consider the reverse.
"These routes will be designed to complement existing transport options from Canberra and Sydney, public transport could certainly be leveraged to increase tourism to our area," Mrs Tuckerman said.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the new services would be a "game-changer".
Other services include return trips between Goodooga and Lightning Ridge via Dubbo, Goondiwindi to Inverell via Boggabilla, Conargo to Echuca via Deniliquin and Cabramurra to Cooma via Cowra, Murringo, Boorowa and Canberra, Wyangala to Canberra via Cowra.
And, Wyangala to Canberra via Cowra, Murringo and Boorowa via a weekly day return bus service to Cowra (for Wyangala community) and Canberra.
NSW TrainLink booths will be set up at locations around the state, with consultation open until mid-October. Consultations have been held at Trunkey Creek and will be held in Boorowa on September 23.
